When you run into indeterminate forms, you can factor to cancel out terms and solve for the limit!

Indeterminate form essentially means an unknown value that's not solvable mathematically.

Scenario: Evaluate the limit of the below function at x = 3.

PRO TIP: The most common indeterminate form that you'll work with is "0/0".

We can factor the numerator here (since it's a polynomial)...

x2 - 1x - 6

...and to do so, ask yourself: what two numbers add to -1 and multiply to -6?

-3 + 2 = -1
-3 x 2 = -6

This means we can factor like so!
