Explicit Cost

You are currently viewing a sample of the Cram Kit. Click here to unlock everything.

Explicit cost is the stated cost of an action we choose to take.

Examples: Rent, supplies, fees, etc.

You go to the movies. The total price of tickets is $20. On the same night, you could've worked and earned $50 in income.

Explicit Cost = $20

You are spending $20 (a defined cost) on movie tickets (the action you're choosing to take INSTEAD of working).

When given costs, revenues, profits, etc. and asked to calculate explicit cost...

Can you extract the costs that have both a defined value & are from the chosen action?

Can you exclude costs that, even if they have defined value, are not associated with the chosen action?

Can you ignore all revenue, profit, income, etc. values?
