How to use t-scores

T-scores are used to account for the absence of population standard deviation or a small sample size.

x-bar is the sample mean.
ยต is the population mean.
s is the sample standard deviation.
n is the sample size.

We find the p-value range associated with the t-score in this table.

t-score = 1.535
df = 34

0.05 < p-value < 0.10

This means that 5 - 10% of the distribution occurs to the right of our t-score!
